Neary, Francis Howard,
age 76, of Fairmont, Antigonish County passed away on March 2, 2013 in
St Marthas Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in
Antigonish, he was the son of the late Ralph and Miriam (Hanrahan)
Neary.
Francis spent
his working life as a woodsman. He lived a quiet life,
enjoying the outdoors and the beautiful scenery surrounding his home
in Fairmont. A good cup of tea, and maybe a biscuit, was
never far from his hand, and along with that, he could be found
playing cards, telling stories and talking about old, fast cars with
his grandson, Jacob.
He is
survived by his son David (Jolene) Greencorn and their children Kelsey
and Jacob of Cloverville; son, Shane Greencorn, Antigonish; siblings:
Florence (Bill) Smith; Eleanor (David) Kalin; Patsy (Jimmy) MacPhie;
Ellen (Stan) Parson; Brenda (Bernie) Heffernam; Beatrice
(Wally) Campbell; David (Patsy) Neary; Joe (Marion) Neary; Patrick
(Eileen) Neary and Jerome (Maria) Neary.
He was
predeceased by his life partner, Donna Greencorn; siblings: Eugene,
Robert (Elizabeth), Maggie (Francis) MacDonald; Evelyn; James
(Jeanette) and infant brother Bernard.
The family
extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of St. Martha’s
Palliative Care Unit for their wonderful care during
Francis’ final days.
Cremation has
taken place. A funeral service will be held at a later date.
