Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the quiet passing of Francis “Frank” John Gorman, of Mall Bay, St. Mary’s Bay, at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the age of 96 years.
He is predeceased by his parents James & Alfreda Gorman, brother John (Anita – Deceased), brother-in-law Edmund Christopher and nephew James Christopher.
Leaving to mourn his beloved sister Mary Christopher; nieces: Eleanor Adams (Ivan), Bernadette Critch (Brian – Deceased), Sandra Fowler and devoted niece Cheryl Ellis (Dennis), nephews Stephen (Bridgie) and Eddie Christopher (Sherry) and many cousins and friends, especially those living in Mall Bay. We would like to acknowledge Uncle Frank’s ‘family’ at Admirals Coast Retirement Centre, where he resided for more than seven years before moving to St. Pat’s in July of 2022. He was deeply saddened when he had to leave and often reflected on his good times there. A special thank you is extended to the staff, Dr. O’Shea and Father Sutton at St. Pat’s for their care and attention he received during his brief stay there.
Resting at Gibbons’ Funeral Home, St. Mary’s, on Monday, May 1, 2023, from 1 – 4pm and 6 – 8pm (Vigil 7pm). Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at 11am, at Our Lady of Assumption Church, St. Mary’s. Burial to follow at St. Joseph the Worker Cemetery, Riverhead. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society. The family also requests that face masks be worn at the funeral home and the church.
