Obituary
We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, dad, uncle and Grandpa on Tuesday October 11th. Francis is survived by his wife Audrey of 56 years and daughters Jennifer and Clair, grandchildren Jason, Brady, Tyler and Owen, brother and sister in law Wilfred and Maureen and his nephews Darren and Philip and great-nephews Brandon and Aiden.
Frank was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1938 to parents Samuel and Elizabeth (Lily) Stevenson. He was an avid rugby fan and played for many years. In 1977, Frank immigrated to Canada with his wife and children, settling in Mississauga where they lived for over 20 years. After retirement, Frank and Audrey moved to Milton and spent their summers at Sherkston Shores in Port Colburne.
For all those that knew him, Frank was a kind, generous person, always helping his friends and family whenever needed. Never one to sit around, Frank was often out riding his bike, going to the gym or putting around fixing things. He loved reading and doing his crosswords puzzles and of course watching rugby matches. Known to many as “Chef Francois”, he enjoyed cooking and finding new recipes to try out with friends and family. Frank had the gift for the gab and if he wasn’t telling stories of “back home”, he was making jokes or sharing his opinions on life. Frank was larger than life and his friends and family will feel the loss of his presence for many years to come.
Please join us in celebrating Frank’s life on Thursday October 19th. A service will be held at McKersie & Early Funeral Home 114 Main St. E , Milton at 11.30 am for visitation, service to follow at 12pm. A reception afterwards at the Irish Supporters Club 4120 Ridgeway Dr #39, Mississauga ON L5L 5S9 from 2-6 pm. Where we will share a Guinness and toast to the wonderful life of Frank.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to the heart and stroke foundation.
