The family of Frances (Clements) Brown announce her death in hospital August 9, 2024 at age 98, after a short illness. Her husband Edward Llewellyn (Tom) Brown passed away in 1995. They lived on a hobby farm near Glen Robertson, Ontario for 18 years, before moving to Carlsbad Springs, and then Frances to Blackburn Hamlet, eventually residing at the Bearbrook Retirement Residence. Frances and Llewellyn volunteered at Ottawa museums for many years. Their children are Stephen (Donna), Louise (Don Eaton), and Maurice. Grandchildren are Kyle Brown (Véronique), Tyler and Todd Duchesneau, and great-grandchildren Savannah and Hailey Brown. She was pre-deceased by her siblings and granddaughter Kelly.
Frances was forever positive, cheerful, and loving, especially enjoying blue skies, and animals of any kind, but especially horses, which she raised for a time, and dogs. While she appreciated visits of any kind at Bearbrook, dog visits were always a highlight and would have her smiling ear to ear.
The family wishes to thank all those whose care helped Frances enjoy so many years, particularly Dr. Kathryn McFarland, the staff at Bearbrook, caregiver Sheila Hunt and dog Ollie, neighbour Sheila Ross and dog Tess, and nurse Laura in 6C at the Montfort Hospital.
Friends are invited to the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean, (between Bayshore and Baseline Rd.) on Saturday, September 28 for a visitation from 10:00 a.m., service in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception, all at the same location.
