Obituary
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dearly beloved mother, Florence. Flo passed away peacefully in her 95th year, on January 18, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Burns Allister Turner, for more than 60 years. Devoted and loving mother to Marilyn Brown, Margaret Durso (Phil), Brenda St Amant (David), Jerry Turner (Debbie) and Judy Moore (Gary). Cherished grandmother to Lori, Scott, the late Christopher, Jennifer, Steven, Mathew, and Mitchell. Loving great grandmother to Lucas, Kayla, and baby Bennett.
Florence, the youngest of eight children was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She loved her family, friends and relatives. Flo enjoyed reading, sewing, crafting, baking, and for many years enjoyed bowling on the Waterdown Women’s League. Florence and her husband Burns loved to entertain friends and family in their home, hosting many parties and celebrations over the
years’. She especially loved travel (as long as the designation included a casino). She especially loved the slot machines and even managed to hit the jackpot a few times!
Our family would sincerely like to thank devoted daughter Margaret, for her many years of commitment and dedication in caring for our mom.
Visitation will be held at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill Street North, Waterdown on Monday, January 23 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. followed by the Funeral Service to be held at 2:00 p.m. at GRACE ANGLICAN CHURCH, 157 Mill Street North, Waterdown. Interment in Waterdown Union Cemetery. Reception to follow in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks donations be made in Florence’s name to Grace Anglican Church, Waterdown, Ontario, or to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
