Florence Bride Dollimount Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of the late Florence Bride Dollimount on Wednesday, February 7th, 2024 at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital at the age of 97 years.
Florence was born in Millers Passage in 1926 but later resettled to Stephenville with her family in 1969. She was a very hard worker from a very young age and worked at various jobs. Mom/nan loved get togethers with her family and friends and enjoyed cooking her famous jiggs dinner feast and pies every Sunday for her family. She spent the majority of her life caring for her family. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were some of her greatest joys, be assured she loved every one of them. She loved to knit, berry pick and certainly enjoyed a good word search book. She had a great faith in God and would never miss a Saturday evening mass, her rosary beads never left her side .
She leaves to mourn with many loving memories: children: Priscilla; Gordon (Debbie), and Audie (Jenny); grandchildren: Lori (Randy) Hynes, Charmaine Dollimount (Larry), AJ Dollimount, Shane (Melissa) Dollimount, and Angela Ward; great grandchildren: Ryley, Madison, Makayla, and Summer; and furry friends Buster and Jiggs; as well as a circle of extended family and friends.
Florence was predeceased by: husband Arthur; son Steve; parents Martin and Priscilla Sheppard; sisters: Ursula Forgeron, Christine O’Quinn, Mary Smith, and Bridget Ridgely; and brothers: Julien and Michael Sheppard.
Following her wishes cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 10th from 1:00-2:00 PM at Russell’s Funeral Home Chapel, Stephenville followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM.
On behalf of Florence, the family would like to thank the staff at WMRH, STRH and St. Clare’s Hospital for the care and compassion shown to our mom/nan during her hospital stay.
