EVELYN TALLON
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Evelyn Tallon, a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 18, 2024 at the age of 69.
Born in Ireland, Evelyn brought a little piece of her homeland when she moved to Canada. Though she embraced her new life, she always held Ireland close to her heart, cherishing the memories and family she left behind. Evelyn was an incredibly caring person who found immense joy in being with her family. Her love and devotion to her sons, Stephen and Robert were boundless. She was a mother who would do anything for her boys, providing unwavering support, love and guidance throughout their lives.
Her greatest joy however came from her grandchildren, Anthony, Dominic and Sofia. They were the light of her life and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her sons, Stephen and Robert along with her grandchildren were the centre of her world. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will continue to inspire them.
She was a loving sister to Frances Donnelly (John), Dermot Murphy (Geraldine), Michael Murphy (Fiona), John Murphy (Ann), Paul Murphy (Áine), Alan Murphy, Sandra MacDonald (John), Sharon Byrne (Ken) and Kenneth Murphy (Celeste). Dear sister-in-law of Rita Murphy. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Michael and Frances Murphy, brother Pat Murphy and partner Murray Fraser.
A special «thank you» to Sandra, Frances and Kenny. Their immense support, especially during Evelyn’s time in hospital ensured her last days were filled with comfort and love.
Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Sunday, June 23 from 10 -10:45 a.m. followed by the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations to Muscular Dystrophy Canada would be appreciated and may be made at LockhartFuneralHome.com.
