Evelyn McPhail (née Charland) passed peacefully at her home in Perth, Ontario, on Monday, March 11, 2024. She was 98 years old.
She is survived by her sister, Denise Charland of Trois Rivières, with whom she shared over ninety years of love and close friendship, as well as her five children: Lynn (Don Preston), Donna, Bruce (Reta), Kathleen (Bob Besharah) and Kevin, who remain so thankful for her tremendous love and support throughout their lives.
Our mother was the consummate matriarch of a family which included seven grandchildren: Caleb, Collin and Conor Kinnear, Scott Johnson, Jacquelyn Howden (Parker), Kya Besharah (Mike Wood) and Lauren Davis (Andrew), and nine great-grandchildren: Emily, Cade, Parker, Jonas, Aryk, Kinder, Burke, Kinsley and Abigail.
Mom was much loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her from her birthplace in Trois Rivières, Quebec to her adult life in Morrisburg, St. Andrew’s West, Cornwall and Perth, Ontario. She was forever committed to maintaining contact with extended family and long-time friends, all of whom will remember the good times and joy she brought to every occasion.
A celebration of life in honor of Evelyn will be held at Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall, Ontario (613-938-3888), on Monday, May 27th from 11-1 P.M. followed by a chapel service. Online messages of condolences may be made in the obituary section of www.wilsonfuneralhome.ca
