It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother.
Eva passed away in her 81st year, at The Miramichi Hospital in New Brunswick.
She is predeceased by her husband Bill (Aug. 2011), her son in law Ric Chessman (July 2022), her parents, and 10 siblings.
She leaves behind her daughters Maureen Chessman and Kathy Veneman and her son Bill Foley (Bonnie). Also left to mourn are her 5 granddaughters: Jane, Emily (Mo), Shannon (Cooper) Chessman and Maggie and Abbey Veneman. She will be missed greatly by her lifelong friend, Ellen McIntyre. Eva is also survived by sisters in law, Beth Foley, Patty (Frank) FitzGerald, Judy Graham and brother in law Tom (Pat) Foley. Eva was the 4th youngest of 12 children born to John and Annie (Cook) Graham.
She is survived by her younger sister Mabel (Dave) Armour of Leduc, AB.
Her childhood was filled with outings on the Miramichi River and lots of singing and dancing. It is in Miramichi that she met her life partner Bill. Eva’s love of learning, along with her bubbly personality, led her to a career choice in teaching. She taught High School in Miramichi for a short time before she married her beloved Bill and moved to Toronto in 1963 to start their family. Eva became a mother to 3 children before her 23rd birthday. She was a loving and supportive mother to her daughters and son. As a mother, she made sure that her children were made to feel special. She and Bill moved to Milton in 1977 where Mom lived until Oct., 2012 when she decided to move “home” to NB. Eva made wonderful friendships with her neighbours on MacKenzie Dr and at the Royal Bank, Milton Mall, where she worked for many years. Eva became a grandmother at 46 with the arrival of Jane followed by Emily, Maggie, Abbey and Shannon. Her role as grandmother was by far her favourite role.Her granddaughters adored her and when they were young, they were treated to sleepovers, craft days, long summer drives, baking lessons and an ongoing exposure to The Oldies and Country music. Eva had a special relationship with each granddaughter and was very proud of their accomplishments. She was always just a phone call away . Those phone calls, FB messages and emails will be sorely missed.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Miramichi Regional Hospital. Our heartfelt thanks to Ellen for her support during this difficult time. As per Eva’s wishes, there will not be a service. The Family will have a memorial at a later date.

Her husband of 47 years has Conway on the turntable and has been waiting patiently for this reunion with his bride…
