It is with deep sadness we announce the
passing of our mother, Ethelyn Eileen
Weatherbee, 93 years of Springhill, on Thursday, July
13, 2023 in All Saints Hospital, Springhill.
Born in Springhill, she was a daughter
of the Late Arnold and Myrtle (Sencabaugh) Halliday.
In 1948 she married her best friend and
love, Buster Weatherbee, and they had 55 years together until he
passed in 2004.
Mom loved life. She was always up for a
game of cards, a trip to the casino or a chat with old friends at
Tim’s. She was a phenomenal mother and Nanny who, above all
else, loved spending time with her ever expanding
family.
She will be sadly missed by son, Bill
(Ronda) Weatherbee, Springhill; daughters, Mary Lou (Jeff) Griswold,
Dartmouth, Joyce (Faron) Young, Springhill and Betty Jean
«BJ» (John) McIntosh, Penticton, BC; grandchildren, Megan,
Allison, Abby, Cameron and Duncan; great grandchildren Nash, Sawyer,
Kohen, Peyton; brother, Gerald (Helene) Halliday, St. Hubert, Quebec;
sister-in-law Muriel Weatherbee; several nieces and
nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband
George William «Buster» Weatherbee; a sister, Jean (Leonard)
Boss; brother, Merlin (Iris) Halliday.
The family would like to thank the staff
of 2nd floor All Saints Hospital, for the compassionate care given to
Mom during her time there.
Arrangements are under the care and
direction of the A H Brown Funeral Home,
5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361), where visitation will
be held on Thursday July 20, 2023 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm followed
immediately by her funeral at 2:00pm, with Ruth Gamble, DLM
officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Springhill,
NS.
If so desired, donations in Ethelyn’s
memory may be made to charity of choice.
