With deep sadness, yet grateful hearts, we announce the passing of Esther into the heavenly arms of her beloved husband, Gordon.
Esther is survived by her son Grant (Shari), daughter Karen (Randy), grandchildren Scott (Melissa), Tyler, Sara (Matthew), Mackenzie (Pierre), Elliot (Denae), Shaylene, Ryan, great grandchildren Arianna and Gabriella, Jillian and Hallie, Reece, Brayden and Emmet, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Esther was born in Saskatoon, SK, and raised on a farm just outside of Erickson, MB. She is predeceased by her parents Alvin and Gellen, sisters Juanita, Viola, Irene, and spouses.
She married Gordon, the love of her life on July 16, 1955.
Esther and Gordon’s dream home become a reality in 1959, when they built and moved to Transcona. Soon after their family was complete with the arrival of Grant and Karen.
Esther had a long and fulfilling career as a primary school teacher spending the majority of it teaching at Radisson School.
The years quickly passed, raising two children, working full time, yet spending quality time with the family.
Retirement was calling their names. In 1989 days of freedom ensued with trips to far off destinations and a winter home in Arizona, which they looked forward to every year.
The family would like to thank IBEC and River Park Gardens for the care given to our mother.
As per her request, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024 at 11:00am at Transcona Memorial United Church, 209 Yale Avenue West.
