Our strong Ernie, devoted husband of 55 years to his late wife, Ceny, loving father to his sons, Nestor and Ian, and generous Lolo to his grandchildren, Samantha, Ash and Austin, passed away peacefully in the warmth of his home with his youngest son by his side.
Ernie will be dearly remembered by his sisters, Auring and Nene, his brother, Rody, his brothers-in-law, Ador and Freddie, his sisters-in-law, Delia, Carman and Perla, his nephews Darryl, Boy, Ray, Rick, Al, Jun Jun, Mike, Michael, Rico, Nikko and Alvin, his nieces, Sonia, Thelma, Jesse, Precy, Vivian, Lillian, Belan, Camile, Yoly, Aileen, Amy, Evelyn, Lee, Didit, Cambal, Balat, Malou, Joyce and Itchie, his in-law, Erina, his daughter-in-law, Linda, and so many other relatives and friends. Ernie will be greeted in heaven by his parents-in-law, Upeng and Midor, his in-law, Alfonzo, his brother, Hermie, his sisters, Cion, Cely, Leony and Luring, and his parents, Kolas and Peling,
During his 86 years of life, Ernie was a brave immigrant who moved to Canada from the Philippines when he was barely in his twenties, and paved the futures of his wife and sons. He worked hard at his career as a medical technologist at Toronto General Hospital and Toronto Western Hospital. He was the handyman, the housekeeper, and the chef of the household. He was the driver and protector of his wife, the strength of his sons, the security of his grandchildren, and the resilient fighter of colon cancer, diabetes, and leukemia. Ernie loved listening to music, playing chess, fishing in his early days, gambling responsibly, laughing with his wife, seeing his sons, giving money to his grandchildren, and spending quiet times with only a handful of lucky people who he held closest to him. He was a quiet, humble man, who respected everyone. Most of all, he was the foundation of our family, and we owe everything to him. He was our pillar, and will be remembered forever. Thank you, Daddy, from all of us. We love you forever. Rest peacefully with Mommy.
