Erling «Jim» Andersen
1934-2023
Following a lengthy illness, Erling «Jim» Andersen of New
Denmark, NB, passed away peacefully at the Grand Falls General
Hospital on the evening of July 10, 2023.
Jim was born in Foley Brook, NB, on November 6, 1934. He was the son
of the late Gunnar and Martha (Karlsen) Andersen. Jim leaves behind
his very close friend, Joan Copp of Plaster Rock, NB; his daughters,
Jana Andersen of Fredericton, NB, Robin Andersen (Rejean Desjardins)
of Moncton, NB; his son, James Andersen of Toronto, ON; his
grandchildren, Andrew, Austin, Elizabeth, Elise (Nathan), Richard, and
Mark; his sister, Sonja Taylor of Saint John, NB; along with several
nieces and nephews.
Jim was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Gerold, Gunnar Jr.,
and Raider; his sisters, Lina, Randi, Pearl, Gloria, and Tula.
Respecting Jim’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral held.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 2 pm
from the Maple Grove Cemetery, New Denmark, NB. Rev. Jonah Bruce
officiating. A reception will be held at the Bethany Lutheran Church
Hall following the graveside service.
Jim’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the
entire staff of the Grand Falls General Hospital for the care given to
Jim during his stay there. A special thank you goes to Registered
Nurse Pierre Cyr for the comfort he gave Jim and his family in his
final days.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home,
Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock, NB.
