Linda Labrague, 88, passed away peacefully at St. Michael’s Hospital on May 28th. One of 13 siblings, Linda was a cherished sister, aunt and friend. Born in the Philippines, Linda moved to New York, then Toronto, starting her nursing career the day after she arrived. A proud and dedicated nurse, Linda’s 45-year career saw her leading major operating rooms at St. Michael’s, East General, St. Joe’s, Humber, and Princess Margaret Hospitals. A self-appointed coach for the Blue Jays, Linda followed the season whether spending time in Toronto or Collingwood. Linda will be deeply missed by her nieces, nephews, the Gorman family, and her long-time friend, Fr. Bill Scanlon. Visitation will be held at the Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Ave. W. (2 stoplights west of Yonge St.) on Sunday, June 2nd from 1-3 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Monica’s Church, 44 Broadway Ave., on Monday, June 3rd at 2:00 p.m. Private cremation to follow. In memoriam, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a hospital foundation of your choice.
