Passed away peacefully at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital on Friday, January 20, 2023, Erik Thompson of Chesterville, age 80. Loving husband of Betty Thompson (nee Dillabough) for 60 years. Loving father of Mark (Bonnie) of Richmond, John (Chrisy) of Chesterville, Daryl of Chesterville, Greg (Kim) of Winchester and Lori (Jason Ouderkirk) of Chesterville. Dear brother of Doug (Mary Lynne) of Greely, Mike (Janet) of Morrisburg, Paul (Carrie) of Kingston, David (Laura) of London and Carolyn Goddard of Cornwall. Erik will be fondly remembered by 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Lorne and June Thompson and his brother Stephen (Alice). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to operating a successful electrical contracting business for 54 years Erik developed 2 residential subdivisions in Chesterville.
Funeral Arrangements
A Celebration of Erik’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion in Chesterville on Sunday, January 29th from 1-4 p.m. Spring interment of cremated remains will be at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Chesterville. Donations to the Winchester Hospital would be gratefully acknowledged by the family. Online condolences may be made at marsdenmclaughlin.com.
