Obituary
Erik Kenneth Noesgaard passed away peacefully with his father, Henrik Noesgaard, and long time family member and aunt, Jean Walters, by his side on Friday April 7, 2023 at St. Mary’s General Hospital, Kitchener, at 40 years of age. He is predeceased by his Mother, Charlotte Noesgaard, and survived by his father, Henrik Noesgaard, his brother, Kevin Noesgaard and nephew, Ezra, and Faster Marianne Noesgaard Szabo, and cousins Alexandre and Susanne.
Erik’s most recent career was serving in the shops onboard Holland America and Norwegian Cruise Line ships. He loved the lifestyle and travelled as far as Australia and New Zealand, in a job that he truly loved. His career was interrupted when cruise travel was suspended by the COVID pandemic, shortly after which he was forced to give this up due to a diagnosis of severe heart disease. Subsequently, Erik returned to work for Starbucks for whom he had worked prior to his cruise career.
While his heart issues created complications for him, he was determined to continue his travels including a Disney Cruise with his family in February, followed immediately by a cruise out of New Orleans with many of his friends. He lived life to the fullest right up to the end. We have been touched by the many text messages we have received from his many friends around the world. He has touched the lives of so many who remember his joyous good nature. He is truly missed.
His other passion was live theatre. He was active with theatre companies in Toronto and in Kitchener-Waterloo. He frequently travelled to New York to see shows. Three of his favourite shows which he attended numerous times, were Phantom of the Opera, Wicked and Mamma Mia.
Erik attended KW Bilingual School, Rockway Mennonite Collegiate, and WCI in Kitchener- Waterloo, as well as Ryerson University in Toronto.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Friday July 28 in the Leith Historic Church, in Leith near Owen Sound. Interment will be in the Leith Cemetery next to his mother, Charlotte.
