Eric’s Obituary
BELLIVEAU, Eric – Age 66, of Grosses Coques, passed away at home on Monday, August 26, 2024. Born in Digby, he was a son of the late Joffre and Regina (Theriault) Belliveau.
Eric loved to go camping with family and friends. Keji was his happy place; he really enjoyed swimming, biking the trails and paddling the lakes. He was always willing to help out fellow campers and if anyone in the park needed something there was a very good chance he had it in his well stocked trailer.
Eric also liked to travel, especially to Cuba. The highlight of his trips was always the scuba diving excursions.
Gardening was a passion for Eric. He took great pride in the delicious fruits and vegetables he would grow every season. He certainly had two green thumbs. He also had a knack for clamming, often coming back with more than he could carry. Just don’t bother asking him where he found them.
Eric cherished time spent with his granddaughter and always looked forward to her visits.
Playing hockey and golf were two of Eric’s favourite pastimes. But going for walks, bike rides and “bootcamp” with his canine exercise companion and best dog, Chloe was the most special pastime.
Over the last several years he looked forward to Friday night at Mike’s. He loved to meticulously prepare tasty meals and desserts for his friends.
Eric was a patient of the at-home renal clinic through the Yarmouth hospital. He could not have asked for better support from Katie and Tina. They went above and beyond for him on many occasions and he showed his appreciation by being their “model patient”. The family would like to send special thanks to all the staff there who took such good care of him over the years.
The family would also like to express their sincere thanks to the first responders on scene. Their dedication, patience and compassion were very much appreciated.
He is survived by his wife, Janice; children, Natalie LeBlanc (David) and Rémi (Susan); granddaughter, Caroline; and his beloved cat, Smokey. He will also be sorely missed by extended family and friends, not only for his sense of humor, but also his good natured ribbing and storytelling.
He was predeceased by brother, Reginald.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Meteghan Funeral Home. A family graveside service will be held at a later date in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Church Point. A celebration of life for family and friends will also be held at a later date.
