Eric’s Obituary
Eric Goldbeck, a beloved resident of Peace River, AB, passed away on November 13, 2024, in Edmonton, AB, at the age of 79. Born and raised in Red Deer, AB, Eric spent his early years on a farm outside the city. He pursued a career in psychiatric nursing, training in Ponoka, AB, and graduating with honors in 1968.
In 1971, Eric moved to Peace River, where he balanced his time between farming part-time and dedicating 47 years to his work at Sutherland Nursing Home. His commitment to the community extended to his role as a school board member for 21 years, including four years as chairman.
Eric cherished country life, sharing his home with his wife Anne for 59 years, 53 of those years were spent in Wesley Creek. They were married in Peace River on July 10, 1965.
He is predeceased by his parents, Peter and Ella Goldbeck. Eric is survived by his loving wife Anne, his daughter Dawn and her husband Hervé Johnson, and his three grandchildren, Morgan, Cole, and Laura. He also leaves behind his brother Ernie and his wife Ilene Goldbeck, nieces Shelly Goldbeck, April and her husband Al Stevenson and their family, and nephew Terry and his wife Karen Goldbeck and their family.
A Celebration of Life Reception will be held at Three Creeks Hall in Three Creeks, AB, on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 PM.
Interment will take place Three Creeks Cemetery at a later date.
