Enid Blanche (Pelley) Brown
Enid has gone home to be with the Lord. It is with great sorrow the family announces the passing of Enid on September 25, 2023, at the Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, Carbonear, NL in her 84th year. Beloved wife of the late Vern Brown (previously the late Mike Barrett). Loving mother of Darlene Reid of Calgary, AB and grandmother of Chris Barrett of London, ON. Dear sister of Joan Fulton and Rita Moore. Lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, as well as her extended family and friends in and around Hant’s Harbour.
Enid was born on July 3, 1940, in Halifax, NS, the daughter of the late Wallace & Edith (Moulton) Pelley. Enid was an avid gardener and slate rock painter and when she wasn’t in her beautiful gardens, you could find her with a paintbrush in hand and a cat or two curled up on her lap. Enid’s bond with her cats was truly special and brought immense joy to her life.
A service will be held on October 21, 2023 at 2:00pm at Calvary PentecostalChurch in Hant’s Harbour. Interment will take place immediately following at the Hant’s Harbour United Church Cemetery. Please join us for fellowship in the church hall following the interment. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to an animal rescue organization, a cause near and dear to Enid’s heart, or to a charityof your choice.
As we say goodbye to a remarkable gardener, beloved cat lover and avid painter, let us remember Enid with gratitude for the beauty she brought into our lives and the love she shared with all living beings. May her spirit continue to bloom in our hearts, just as her garden did in her care. Enid is now in the embrace of God’s eternal love and her unwavering faith continues to inspire and guide us all.
