It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Emmett O’Connor, due to a lengthy illness of IPF. He passed surrounded by his loving family Friday, December 30th, 2022.
He was employed for many years with Iller door systems with employees who were more like family. Emmett loved spending time with family at home and at Black Rock with his family and very close friends.
Emmett is survived by his loving wife Sherry (Cheryl) O’Connor, son Emmett D O’Connor, daughters Jessica (Kyle) Hickey, Emily (Matthew Jessome) O’Connor, and his right arm, his grandson Nickolas Joseph O’Connor
He is also survived by his grandkids Rayann White, Avery Grant, William Matheson, and great-grandson Rayden White.
Emmett is also survived by his parents Mae and Emmett O’Connor, sister Geralyn (Dennis) Tobin, brother John (Wendy) O’Connor, and many nieces and nephews he adored dearly.
He is also survived by his brothers-in-law Monte (Debbie) Serafinus, Roy (Bonnie) Serafinus, Danny LeBlanc, sisters-in-law Deanna Buffet, Debbie Keagan, and Marjorie Serafinus.
He was predeceased by his daughter Jody O’Connor, mother and father-in-law Edna (Hillard) Serafinus, and John Serafinus, brothers-in-law Bernie Buffet, Johnny Serafinus and sisters-in-law Francie (Skook) Targett, Shirley (Leslie) Bishop, Lorraine LeBlanc and Sonja (Eddie) Smith.
A celebration of his life will be held Friday, January 6, 2023, at 10:30 am in St. Joseph Church, Bras d’Or. Words of comfort may be forwarded to his family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
