Passed away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital on Monday 18 December 2023.
Emily was born on Flat Island, Bonavista Bay on 25 August 1923. She taught school in Bell Island, Twillingate and Gander.
Emily and Lloyd lived in Buildings 108 and 132 at the old townsite prior to moving into the brand new town of Gander in the 1950s.
Predecesed by her husband Lloyd, her sister Ruby Clark and her brothers Albert and Lloyd Sampson. Leaving to mourn her sons Derek (Barb), Donald (Rita) and Peter, her grandchild Courtney (Pat) and a delightful great grandson Arthur.
Emily spent four very happy years at Nightingale Manor. Many thanks to her friends both new and old and the kind and caring staff.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Drs Casey and Al-Dulaimi and the truly outstanding nursing staff on the medical unit of the James Paton Memorial Hospital.
Remains entrusted to Stacey’s Funeral Home and cremation has taken place. A service in Celebration of Emily’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Childrens Wish Foundation of Canada or a charity of your choice.
