1940-2024
The death occurred at Whisperwood Villa on Saturday, October
19th, 2024 of Emily Chowan, age 84 years. Born in Alberton, PEI on
March 26th, 1940; she was the daughter of the late Mary and
Jerry Pitre of St. Felix, PEI.
Beloved wife of
Vernon Chowan of Winsloe, PEI, Dear mother to Barbara (Dale Gaudette
dec.) of St. Felix and step-mother to Tracy (Kris Kubassek) of
Plattsville, Ontario. Proud grandmother to Brandon Gaudette
(Kaylan) of St. Felix, also step-grandmother to Alicia Kubassek of
Plattsville, Ontario, and great-grandmother to Georgie Gaudette of
Alberton, PEI.
Loving sister to Bertha Pitre
(Dennis dec.) of St. Felix, Theresa Martin (Maurice) of Charlottetown,
Emile Pitre (Helene) of Tignish Shore, Angela Desroches of St. Felix,
Joe Peters of Charlottetown, Shirley Desroches (Seymour dec.) of St.
Felix and Francis Pitre (Nicole) of St. Felix. Emily is also survived
by sisters-in-law; Diane Chowan (William dec.), Rose Chowan (John
dec.), Linda Chowan (James dec.), and Doreen Peters (Cecil dec.), as
well as her many nieces and nephews.
She was
also predeceased by her brothers; Cecil, Oswald and Lloyd,
brothers-in-law; Arthur, William, John, fred, Joseph and James Chowan,
Dennis Pitre and Seymour Desroches.
Resting at
Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home from where the funeral
service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October
24, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Floral Hills Memorial
Gardens Cemetery. No visiting hours by request.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the PEI
Humane Society.
