Surrounded by his family on April 17, 2023 at the age of 80.
Will be dearly missed by his wife of 57 years, Betty (nee Bondy). Loving father to David (Catherine) and Amanda (Douglas). Beloved Grandfather to Avery and Shelby. He will be remembered by his sister Mary.
Predeceased by his parents Emil Sr. and Josephine.
Emil had a lifelong passion for restoring antique cars and building and driving hot rods and customs. He was a longtime member of both the Motor City Packard Club and the Kaiser-Frazer Owner’s Club. He was a 40-year tool and die maker at Ford Motor Company and spent his retirement designing, fabricating and machining custom car parts and anything else he dreamed up in his incredibly creative mind. Emil and Betty traveled the world and loved spending time in Rome and the Greek Isles with a special fondness for Mykonos. He adored every second he spent with his granddaughters and loved traveling to car shows and swap meets far and wide with David. Their many adventures were nothing less than epic.
The family would like to thank the PSWs and nurses at The Village at St. Clair (Oldcastle) for their extraordinary kindness and care.
A graveside blessing will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens on Friday, April 21st at 10:30am.
