EISINGA, Elzo
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Elzo at his home in Campbellford on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at the age of 89. Elzo, who was born in Eindhoven, The Netherlands on February 16, 1935, was a caring, loving family man. He loved his family deeply. Above all he loved his Lord and Saviour.
Beloved husband for 63 years of Rina (Huigerina) Eisinga (nee Marcus). Loving father to Elizabeth vanEs (Don), Wilhelmina Hoekstra (David) and Elzo. Cherished Opa to Benjamin vanEs (Margaret), Robyn Amodeo (Joey), Jeremy Hoekstra (Laureanne), Christine DenOuden (Kyle), and Lisa Hoekstra-Briand (Wayne). Dear Opa to seven great-grandchildren: Toby, Lilly, Ian, Gabe, Charlotte, Owen, Delilah.
Predeceased by his parents Sjoerd and Elisabeth Eisinga (nee Lange), brother, Jan Eisinga, sister, Roelefien Eisinga, brothers-in-law: Leo Marcus, Aris Marcus, Lutzen Overwijk, and sisters-in-law: Willy Purdy, Sally Marcus. Survived by sisters-in-law: Patricia Eisinga, Ali Overwijk, Hillie Marcus, and brother-in-law Hugo Marcus. Elzo is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Service to be held, Friday, June 28, 2024 at Fellowship Christian Reformed Church, 204 Main Street, Brighton, ON at 11:00 am. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations in Elzo’s memory can be made to Quinte Region Christian Schools (qrcs.ca) or your local Hospice. Arrangements have been entrusted to RUSHNELL FUNERAL HOMES – BRIGHTON, 130 Main Street (613-475-2121).
