Elsie A. Fudge (Poole)
On June 20, 2024, Elsie A. Fudge (nee Poole) passed peacefully away at the Health Science Centre at St. John’s.
Always quick as a whip, she loved a good laugh and could toss out one liners with the best of them. She was loving, clever and kind, not to mention a great cook. No one can cook Kraft pizza or a feed of fish the same. Food was her love language and she enjoyed cooking for family and friends whenever the opportunity arose. Family was the most important thing including those she chose as family. She spent most of her life with her best friend and husband, Jim, doing what they loved best; being in the boat, gardening and seeing who could catch the biggest fish. She loved animals and could often be seen with a cat or dog in her lap.
Elsie is predeceased by her loving husband, Jim, who was steadfast and by her side during her journey with dementia. Also, she was predeceased by her sister, Violet (husband, Art); nephew, Ronnie; parents, Wilson and Elizabeth Poole; parents in law, Jerry and Elizabeth Fudge; sisters in law, Rose (husband, Neil) and Elsie; brothers in law, Hughie, Calvin (Ruth), Bill (Florence), Gordon (Theresa) and Allan (Irene); her fur baby, Bruin, that helped to keep her moving in the right direction.
Elsie leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Deborah; fur babies, Luna and Silver; son, Brian; daughter in law, Deanna; grandson, Andrew; great grandson, Noah; friends, Millie and Ron, Flora and Clyde.
A special thanks to the staff of 2 SW of Pleasantview Towers; there are too many to name all, but special thanks to Jamie, Sarah, Kim, Donna, Dylan, Dustin, Joffrey, Lynzie, Roxanne and Susan—Thank you for every moment of care and compassion shown.
While we will always miss our mother, nan and friend, we are heartened to know that Jim will be waiting for her with open arms. Following her wishes there will be no visitation—instead please raise a glass of wine or a cup of tea and remember her as she was. She will be missed and forever loved as the strong beautiful person she was.
Funeral Service will take place at Spencer’s Funeral Home Chapel at Harbour Breton at 11:00am on Monday, June 24, 2024 with Rev. Jonathan Durdle officiating. Interment will follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Harbour Breton.
