TOWNSEND, Ellen “Ellie” May – 56, Halifax (formerly of Lockeport) passed away peacefully on Saturday March 16, 2024 surrounded by her family. Born August 4, 1967 she was a daughter of the late Leon Sr. and Marion Vivian (Smith) Hemeon.
Ellie was a simple person who enjoyed spending time with her grandson and taking drives with her husband and camping with her kids.
Survived by her husband of forty years Leslie (Sr), sons; Kevin and Leslie (Jr), Grandson, William “Munchkin” who was was Ellie’s world. Brothers; Douglas and Joseph, Sisters; Gale Schekochihin (Dmitry), Karen Dahr (Gary), Debbie, Carrie, sister in law, Mary Stoddart. Sister-in-laws; Peggy, Mary (David), Sylvia, brother-in-laws; Mitch (Denise), Neville (Charlotte), Danny (Joyce), along with many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brothers; Georgie, Leon (Sr), mother-in-law, Mae Townsend, father-in-law Neville Townsend and brother-in-law, Peter Townsend and long time family friend, Harvey Stewart.
There will be no visitation or funeral as per her request. Donations in her memory can be made to the COPD association or the Canadian Heart and Stroke Association.
