Elizabeth Sas
Elizabeth Sas (nee Gluck) was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a tough and independent Holocaust survivor who will be sorely missed.
Wife of the late Leslie Sas, mother of Magda Benedek (Peter) and the late George Sas (Louise), she was grandmother to Michael (Eve), Joey (Cindy), Leora (Cliff), Jon (Shiela), Emily (Marty) and Robin. She was ‘Oma’ to her great-grandchildren and was so proud of them.
She passed away peacefully at Hillel Lodge in Ottawa at 103. Many thanks to the staff of the Lodge for the wonderful care and to her longtime sitters Thao, Shala and Shiela.
A grave-side funeral will take place at the De La Savane cemetery in Montreal at 11 A.M. Thursday January 11. Donations may be made to Hillel Lodge at 613-728-3900.
