Elizabeth Grace “Betty” Reek of Port Lambton passed away peacefully at the Oak’s Retirement Home on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at the age of 97. Betty was born on the 6th Concession of Point Line in 1925 to Frederick & Theresa (Reedy) McEvoy. Predeceased by her beloved husband Edward ‘Ted’ Reek in February of 1999. Loving mother of Larry Reek (Louise), Kathy Donahue (Don), Karen Corr (Larry Trepanier) and Doug Reek (Lyrissa Seney). Dear grandmother of Tammy, Terri, Sean, Robin, Jody, Jamie, Megan, Ashley, Hunter and Alora and great grandmother of Mitchell, Brady, Brooke, Paige, Bradley, Luke, Samantha , Kaia, Taylor, Connor, Nolan and Mya and great great grandmother of Aria, Josie and Hudson. Sister of John and Pat McEvoy and the late Dan, Tom, Catherine Myers’s, Marie Green and Agnes Bradd. Betty grew up on the family farm and enjoyed sewing, baking, playing cards, coffee and the Sombra and Port Lambton dances. She had worked at Prestolite, Schultz, Libby’s, Luster and Dura Chrome. Grandma loved making PJ’s for the grandkids and enjoyed having them over for sleepovers, making forts, Coke floats and playing euchre. She was a member of the CWL and loved shopping, coffee and getting her hair done for church. The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Port Lambton on Tuesday, January 10 at 1 PM with visiting at the church in the hour prior. Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg entrusted with the arrangements. If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation may be left at the funeral home 519.627.3231.
