SAULNIER, Eleanor Marguerite (August 6, 1956 – January 7, 2023), age 66 of Saulnierville Station, N.S.
If you are reading this, it means I have passed away. I was the third child of the late John and Roseanne (LeBlanc) Fournier, formerly of Saulnierville Station. I passed away peacefully in Digby General Hospital on Saturday, January 7th, 2023.
After graduating from Clare District High School, I attended the Nova Scotia Teachers College in Truro where I graduated in 1977. What followed was a rewarding 34 year teaching career in three different schools in Clare. Teaching was my passion and so, when I retired in 2011, I continued to go to school as a volunteer for 9 years and helped out where needed, until the Covid-19 Pandemic prevented me from volunteering. I also took great pleasure working in my flower gardens, reading, watching movies, biking and swimming.
I was predeceased by my loving husband of nearly 37 years, Delbert. I leave behind my brother, Nicky (the late Susie), Little Brook; my sisters, Gloria Herdman (Gerald), Meteghan River; Linda (Joseph) Gavel, Comeauville; as well as my brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews and many dear and loyal friends.
I would like to thank the hospital doctors and nurses that look care of me with compassion.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meteghan Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held in Église Sacré-Coeur, Saulnierville on Thursday, January 12th, 2023 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Hospice Akoffodji officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Donations in my memory may be made to Jacky Comeau & Friends Cancer Help Fund Association.
