On the morning of Wednesday, May 1st, Eleanor “Jean” Hallett passed away 2 days before her 83rd birthday. She has joined her husband Tom Hallett (1939-2024) in heaven. Jean was the only child of Abel and Mildred Wornell.
Jean leaves with treasured memories her children Andrew Hallett (Melanie), Penny (Paul Grant), Cathy (Dave Selby), Tammy Hallett (Francisco Ojeda); grandchildren: Caroline Sharp (Ivor), Thomas Grant (Haley), Emma Jean Hallett (Katie Fortune), Molly Hallett, Samantha Jean Hallett, Nicholas Hallett, Matthew Selby, Rachel Selby, Isabel Ojeda and Sebastian Ojeda. She also leaves her beloved great grandchildren Ivy and Isla Sharp.
Jean radiated light and love to all those around her. Jean loved opera, birdwatching, travelling with Tom, literature, solving puzzles, and watching soccer and curling on television. Jean was exceptional at planning parties, cooking and decorating especially for special holidays throughout the year.
Her family is a testament to the goodness she had in her heart. They will carry her memory with them and continue to be the legacy she and Tom created. The family would like to thank the staff at Kenny’s Pond Retirement Home for their support and care over the past two years. Also, a special thank you to Reverend Amanda Taylor for her spiritual guidance.
Visitation and celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 5th at Bally Haly Golf Course (formerly Clovelly) gazebo from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. where the family would like to welcome family and friends.
