Martin, Eldon S.
Passed away peacefully into the presence of the Lord, surrounded by his family on Monday, November 6, 2023 at Knollcrest Lodge, Milverton at the age of 91.
Devoted husband to Beatrice (Martin) Martin. Loving father to the late Marlene (2022) (Lester (2021) Bauman), Delphine (James) Martin, Elizabeth Ann (Eli) Martin, Ruby (John) Martin, Carolyn (Dennis) Martin, Merlin (Rachel) Martin, Donnita (Ross) Good, Harlan (Michelle) Martin. Grandfather to 46 grandchildren and 91 great-grandchildren. Brother of Verna (Rufus) Gingrich, Elsie (Laverne) Weber, sisters-in-law Rebecca Martin and Eileen Martin.
Predeceased by his parents Alvin and Elizabeth Martin, grandson Matthew Martin, granddaughter Courtney Martin, siblings Alice (Aden) Martin, Irene (Sidney) Martin, Elmer (Almeda) Martin, Edgar Martin, Ella (Abner) Shantz, twin brother Alvin (Wilma) Martin, and Leonard Martin.
Eldon was a charter member of the Calvary Conservative Mennonite Church, where he participated diligently and faithfully. He loved connecting with people. He and Beatrice resourcefully raised their family during their 35 years on the farm, and later Eldon enjoyed investing into the local agricultural community through seed sales.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8:30 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2023 at Crystal View Mennonite Church, 2167 Floradale Rd., Floradale followed by burial in Calvary Conservative Mennonite Cemetery. Reception to follow at Parkview Manors, 30 Florapine Rd., Floradale.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Christian Aid Ministries or Alzheimer Society Waterloo Wellington would be appreciated, and may be made through the funeral home.
