Elaine Rosemary Slatter (Spicer) passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on November 12, 2023 at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington, Ontario. Elaine was born September 20, 1945 in Bournemouth England and moved to Canada in 1963. She met and married her late husband Dave Slatter in Hamilton, moved to Burlington and raised two children Jill (Bob Grant) and Jeff (Mindy Racicot). She was a devoted Nana to six grandchildren Jenna, Reagan, Evan, Reid, Roxanne, Griffin and great granddaughter Jade and special Aunt to Marrianne & Claire. She will be greatly missed by her brother Howard and wife Val, and her partner Frank. Elaine was reunited in heaven with her late husband Dave and parents Keith and Peggy Spicer.
Elaine lived a full life even in her “retirement” supporting women in business as a business coach and as a two time women in entrepreneurship author. She adored spending time with her grandchildren and travelling with her family and friends. She led an accomplished professional career for a manufacturing company and supported several entrepreneurial endeavours with her late husband. A Celebration of Life will be held May 5, 2024 at the Burlington Golf & Country Club 3-7pm, Burlington, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital Foundation bit.ly/jbh-elaineslatter. A fellowship towards Gro Your Biz; an organization designed to help women entrepreneurs develop professionally and expand their businesses, has been made on behalf of her family. Cremation has taken place.
