Shirley Elaine (Bartmann) Lucas of Listowel, and formerly of Georgetown, passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Thursday, October 3, 2024, in her 81st year.
Mother of Craig & Kathy Lucas of Listowel, and grandmother of Cole Lucas, and Kyra Lucas. Sister-in-law of Kate & Gary Skelding of Point Clark. She will also remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Harold & Gladys (Ronald) Bartmann, and brother Ron Bartmann.
Elaine grew up in Listowel on the family farm, which is now part of the Listowel Golf Course. During these years, Elaine enjoyed the CGIT program at the Listowel United Church, and graduated as its valedictorian. This church played a large role in her life, as she was also confirmed and married there. Her professional years were spent as a medical secretary in various clinics around the Brampton and Mississauga area while living in Georgetown. She eventually retired to Listowel, and spent these years enjoying her gardens, family, and delving into a good book. We will remember and be forever thankful for her unwavering support, love, and independence. Her last few months dealt her multiple medical blows, which she handled with such grace and strength. We love you always.
A private family service will be held, with interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
Memorial donations to the Listowel Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated, and may be made through the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel.
