Eileen Muriel McNab passed away quietly at her home with her entire family by her side on February 24, 2024. Eileen, beloved wife of the late Herbert Augustine McNab for 54 years, was 53 days shy of her 95th birthday. She will be fondly remembered by her children, Carol (predeceased), Grace (Bruce), Joy (Nobi), Tim (Deborah), Kay, and Ann. Eileen was a much-loved Grandma to Sarah (Jon), Benjamin, Nathan, Isaac, Jonah, Renee (Alex), Angele (predeceased), Ruben (predeceased) and Brooke, and Great Grandma to James, Lilly, Ethan and Aurora. She was the cherished only daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Hillcox and only sister of the late Stewart Hillcox.
Born in Vermilion, Alberta, Eileen lived in Western Canada until the early 1970s when she moved with her husband and family to Ontario where she resided until her passing.
Eileen firmly believed in God and demonstrated this by her daily actions. She led a quiet, humble life that exemplified love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. Eileen devoted herself to her family and touched the lives of others by having faith that great things would happen through small and simple acts. She loved to sew, cook, paint, garden, and travel with her family. She was active in church and took great joy in maintaining contact with friends and family all around the world. While gone from us physically, she has left an indelible mark as an exemplary woman of faith and quiet devotion to God and family. She will be remembered for her unconditional love, creativity, resilience, calm demeanour, patience, quiet strength, and giving spirit.
Please join in celebrating Eileen’s life at a Memorial Service to be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the Winchester Chapel of Hulse, Playfair, & McGarry, 472 Main Street, Winchester. An optional visitation period will be provided at 9:30 a.m.
A special thanks to the Bayshore Home Health Care palliative team for the wonderful support, guidance and care given to Eileen and the family over the past several weeks.
