It is with profound sadness, that we announce the peaceful passing of Eileen Wilhelm on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, at Stratford General Hospital. Eileen was born 92 years ago in New Hamburg, a daughter of the late Menno and Lucinda (Erb) Roth.
Cherished and loving wife of Richard Wilhelm, celebrating 70 years of marriage last May. Devoted mother of Bonnie Follings and husband Harry. Proud grandmother of Fred Follings and wife Dayna, and Matthew Follings and wife Lindsay and great-grandmother of Nash, Blaine and Miller. Eileen was the last remaining of her family and is predeceased by her siblings; Edgar and wife Alice Roth, Orville Roth in infancy, Betty and husband Gerald Schwartz and Doris and husband Dan Stere. She will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews and friends.
Eileen was always very busy at home, on the farm and in the community. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church North Easthope and volunteered in many groups over the years. She and Richard loved to dance and were often traveling with their fifth-wheel trailer to many places to perform. She also loved knitting and crafts, seldom seen without her needles.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg, on Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 2 – 4 p.m.
As expressions of sympathy, donations would be accepted to St James Lutheran Church North Easthope or Heart & Stroke Foundation, or Nithview Community and can be done through the funeral home.
