It is with deep sadness, that we announce the passing of Edward Marcel Voyez, age 69 of Glace Bay on Thursday, January 25th, 2024 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Marcel & Violet (Honen) Voyez.
At one time, Edward worked at Brass Tack, Glace Bay. He was described as a very kind and helpful man. Edward looked after his mother and brother Ted as well. He was fond of playing darts at the Army, Navy, Airforce Hall and was also a member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Glace Bay.
He is survived by three sisters, Marie Currie (Doug), Glace Bay, Elsie McDonald, Toronto, Doreen Edge, B.C., his brother, Theodore “Ted” Voyez, Glace Bay and his nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Edward was predeceased by his sister, Carolyn Partyka.
There will be no services. Interment only at a later date in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
As an expression of sympathy for Edward, memorial donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, Glace Bay.
