It is with broken hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Ed on January 23, 2023 at the age of 96. He is predeceased by his loving wife Dolores (nee Trottier). He is survived by his children Vickie Gangnier (Brian), Eddie (Sharon), Pat Martindale (Len, 2016), Brian (Mary Beth), Kim Feimer, Kathy Stewart (John) and Darryl. Devoted grandfather to seventeen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Beloved son of the late George and Zinnia Mentley. Predeceased by siblings Fred (Madeleine) and ViKie Robichaud (Edgar). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Ed retired from Sales for the J. L. Hudson Department Store (Macy’s), was an active member of St. Gabriel’s Church, Chairman of the combined Roman Catholic School Board and Sandwich West School Board serving from 1962-1965.
If you so desire, donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
On Thursday, January 26, 2023, friends are invited to join the family for visitation from 9:30am until time of the funeral mass at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church (4401 Mount Royal Dr.).
Private family interment to follow.
