Edward Vernon—known as “Ted” to those who knew and loved him—passed away at Headwaters Health Care Centre, Orangeville on Sunday, October 8th, 2023 at the age of 87. Born in Blackpool, England on March 23, 1936 to John and Annie Marsh. Ted was a kind, loyal, and hard-working man with an infectious laugh, who loved sports, music, nature and spending time in the company of his family. He was a veteran of the British Army and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Beloved husband to Joan Marsh (Williams). Adored father to Debra Marsh, Terence Marsh (Shayna Ublansky) and Pamela Marsh (Paul Warren). Cherished grandfather to Justin Riedler, Sean Marsh, Ryan Borg (Katherine Borg), Amanda Borg (Murray Vitone), Madison Sinclair and Nicole Warren. Loving great grandfather to Murray Vitone Jr, Levi Vitone, Kaia Vitone and Camilo Borg. Predeceased by his siblings John and Joan Marsh. Uncle to Beverley, Paula, Phillip, Lorraine, Ian, David, Janet and Hailey. Brother-in-law to Margaret (deceased) and Derek (deceased), Patricia and David (deceased), Maureen (deceased) and John (deceased), Lorraine, and Terence. Edward will also be missed by Larry and Robin, and all other family of lifelong friends Joe and Joyce Wayne (both deceased).
Funeral Service will be held at Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre 21 First St Orangeville, Ontario on Monday, October 23rd, 2023 at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior. Memorial donations to Spina Bifida Association of Canada (sbhac.ca/) or Canadian ADHD Awareness/Education/Advocacy (caddac.ca/) would be appreciated by the family.
A tree will be planted in memory of Edward in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. 22nd Annual Dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com (www.dodsandmcnair.com/)
