It is with heavy hearts for the family of Edward announcing the passing on October 25/2024, at the age of 84.
Edward was born in Wadena, SK on June 14/1940 to Edward Chauncey & Mildred Jean Ward (Rusnell). Edward was predeceased by his wife of 64 years Margaret. He will be remembered by his children Sandra, Shelley (Brent), Sharon (Keith), Stanley (Juanita) & Stacey (Dale). Sister Darlene (John) & brother Gerald (Vera).
Grandchildren Noah, Logan, Daniel, Laura (Taylor), Qwin (Brandy), Gerald, Tyler, Sean, Jonathan (Lindsay), Chanda (Bryce), Stephanie, Cassondra, James (Kristi) & Chantel plus 24 Great Grandchildren that he loved so dearly.
Edward was predeceased by his parents along with brother Gary and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He married Margaret on June 14/1960. They resided in Wadena until they ventured to Thompson, MB where he worked at the Nickel Mine. Then moved back to Wadena. In 1971 they moved to Yorkton. Where he worked at the Pepsi plant, from there he went to Morris Rod Weeder. He eventually was the local taxi driver in Yorkton, where he was known as crash. Ed was very quiet and didn’t say much unless it was needed to be said. In 2022, Ed & Margaret moved to Providence Place in Daysland, AB where his daughter Stacey cared for him. When Margaret passed, he moved to the Killam Continuing Care unit to be closer to Stacey. He passed away peacefully at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton with family by his side.
He enjoyed his afternoon coffee at the local coffee shop. Ed enjoyed fishing at any water hole, claiming he always caught the biggest fish. He was a beloved Calgary Flames Fan & Saskatchewan Roughriders Fan; they lost a great fan. Edward enjoyed Bingo in his younger days. He enjoyed playing his Slotomania game on the computer, for a blind man he did quite well in front of his 50-inch screen. He had over a trillion coins. He enjoyed his wrestling and movies; we think he had every movie that was released. He enjoyed collecting stamps and coins. When a holiday meal is being made you can always find Ed in the kitchen to do the taste testing. Ed showed the symbol of true love passing only 52 days after his loving wife, with a broken heart. He is now with his love. He will always and forever be in our hearts and deeply missed.
In honor of Edward, please wear any Calgary flames gear or Roughriders gear.
