Edna Simmonds (Knapp)
Simmonds, Edna P. (Knapp) – Age 92, of Truro, passed away peacefully with family by her side on November 22, 2024, in Wynn Park Villa.
Born in Harlem, Ontario, she was a daughter of the late Delmar and Minnie Knapp. Edna left Ontario at the age of 25 for Calgary, Alberta, where she was employed as Employee Relations Coordinator for 31 years. After taking early retirement in 1986, Edna and her husband, Eric, continued to spend the warmer months in Alberta and winters in Arizona.
Edna had a love for her dogs, Jellicoe, Chico and K.C. She enjoyed gardening, golfing, bingo, playing bridge, many other card games, crocheting place mats and entertaining. She also liked playing the slots, and loved card parties. Many would remember her for the orange marmalade she made.
Edna is survived by her sister, Eileen (Dick) McGrath of Carleton Place, Ontario, and many nieces and nephews. Edna was predeceased by her husband, Eric; siblings, Kathleen Craig and Frederick Knapp; sister-in-law, Emily Lacey; brothers-in-law, Clifford Craig, Dick McGrath and George Lacey. She will be sadly missed by her families and many friends.
A special thank you goes out to the staff at Wynn Park Villa, as you all treated Edna like family. Your compassion, kindness and understanding will never be forgotten.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. A private family interment will take place in Sand Hill Cemetery, Upper Nine Mile River, at a later date. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.ColchesterCommunity.com
