It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Edward «Ed» Verch on May 7, 2023 at the Renfrew Victoria Hospital in his 87th year. Predeceased by his wife Margaret (nee Dick). Beloved father to Gordie (Susan), Ken (Allyson), Glenn (Cindy) and Karen (Scotty). Proud grandpa of Kaitlyn, Hailey, Melissa, Carter, Logan, Darin, Ashley and Hannah. Survived by his dear companion Kathleen Brunke. Ed is predeceased by his parents Arthur and Annabelle Verch, as well as his siblings Wallace, Lloyd, Claude, Wayne, Wynona, Doug and Marilyn. He will be dearly missed by his siblings Barry, Allan, Lorraine and Corrine, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family would like to extend a thank you to the Nursing Staff at the Queensway Carleton ICU and the Renfrew Victoria Hospital, 2nd and 3rd floor staff, as well as to Dr. Sheeba Mushtaq, for all their care for Ed.
Professional arrangements entrusted to Zohr Family Funeral Home, Renfrew. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 10th, 2023 from 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday, May 11th, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 am followed by a service in the Zohr Family Chapel at 11:00 am. Burial to follow in Douglas Public Cemetery. If so desired, the family would appreciate memorial donations to the Renfrew Victoria Hospital Foundation, Palliative Care Unit.
