In Loving Memory of Earle Laverne Sisson
Passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Saturday, August 12, 2023 after a short battle with brain cancer, in his 82nd year.
Beloved husband of Louise Sisson (nee Buechler) for 57 years. Loving father of Ernie (Stacy) Warrack, Karen (Peter) Jennings, Robin (Paul) Sisson-Hessell. Loving grandpa of Nicole, Andrew (Olivia), Matthew, Jennifer, Morgan (Taylor), Hayden (Brittani) and great grandpa to Cooper, Chance and Chet. Dear brother of his twin sister Eleanor and predeceased by brothers Bernard, Byron, Blaine and by sisters Helen, Iris, Irma, Aldyth. Survived by sisters-in-law Carol Lee, Diane and predeceased by Lillibet. Lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
Earle took great pride in serving his community as a volunteer board member and then chair of the Dysart Planning Committee, as a board member and then chair of the Haliburton County Land Division Committee and as a board member and then chair of the Haliburton Community Housing Corporation where he worked hard to provide additional affordable housing in the village of Haliburton. Earle loved to fish and to hunt and family life revolved around whatever fish or animal season it was. He strived to rub some of this ‘passion’ off onto the younger family fishermen and hunters. His joy was to walk and/or to snowshoe the trails at home and to hike his property in West Guilford.
Friends are invited to visit the family at the Gordon A. Monk Funeral Home Ltd., 127 Bobcaygeon Road, P.O. Box 427, Minden K0M 2K0 on Wednesday from 4:00 until 7:00 pm. A Funeral Service to Celebrate Earle’s Life will be held in the chapel on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 11:00 am. Reception to follow in the Monk-Cray Family Centre at the funeral home. Interment to follow at St. Peter’s Anglican Church Cemetery.
Memorial Donations to the Haliburton Highland Outdoor Association Fish Hatchery (cheques only), Abbey Retreat Centre or to the Haliburton Highlands Health Services Foundation- Cat Scan (HHHSF) would be appreciated by the family.
