Dr. Thomas McAvinue, 67 of Moncton passed away at his home on Friday, June 23, 2023. Born in Lennoxtown, Scotland, he was the son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Donohoe) McAvinue. Dr. McAvinue was a Cardiologist at The Moncton Hospital, a career he was very passionate about. Aside from his professional career, he found great joy in his family and many friends, along with his late wife Patsy, they enjoyed entertaining and traveling, especially to his beloved Scotland.
Surviving are his children, Andrew (Joline Cormier), Allison Landry (Aaron) and Grace (John Kelly); sister Geraldine Doherty (Gerry).
Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by his devoted wife Patsy and brother Joseph.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM, from Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Rd. Moncton NB (858-1995). A funeral mass will be celebrated from St. Bernard’s Catholic Church (43 Botsford St. Moncton) on Monday, July 3 at 11:00 am. Interment, Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Mount Pearl NL. Dr. Thomas McAvinue will be transferred to Barretts Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Ave. Mount Pearl, NL.
