Douglas Ray Stoneking
– age 75, of Kentville, passed away on Monday, January 2,
2023, at home.
Born in Seattle
Washington, he was a son of the late Clifford and Joyce
Curtis.
Douglas had been a
member of the US Airforce and an automotive body repairman before
meeting Carolyn and moving to Canada. He became an active member of
Bethany Memorial Baptist Church as a Deacon, Audio/Video Technician,
and a chair of many boards. He enjoyed reading and spent many days
studying and reading everything.
He is survived by his
wife, Carolyn (Spencer); stepsons, Kelly (Anda); Kevin, and Jason
Wagner; stepdaughter, Sarah (Jerad) Wehr; sister, Virginia
«Ginger» (Mike) Suiter; five step-grandchildren, nieces,
nephews, and extended family.
In addition to his
parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Larry, Robert and Roger
Curtis.
Special thanks to
those members of Palliative Care Team, VON, Carry Me, and Oncology
departments.
A memorial gathering
will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2023 in the White
Family Funeral Home, Kentville. No flowers, by family request.
Donations in memory may be made to charity of choice. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
Cremation Services, Kentville.
