The passing of Douglas Alexander Albert Campbell of Doaktown, NB, husband of the late Joan (Beaton) Campbell, occurred on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at the Oromocto Public Hospital, when his Saviour called him home.
Born on April 25, 1935 in Blackville, NB, he was the son of the late Hugh McDougall Campbell and Eva Eunice (Curtis) Campbell. Doug loved the outdoors ad was a Forest Ranger with the Department of Natural resources, retiring in 1992 after 30 years of service. In his off-time he was often found working on his woodpile, playing the guitar, camping with Joan throughout the United States in their motorhome and spending time with his children and grandchildren whom he dearly loved.
Doug is Survived by his sons, Lorne (Carma) Campbell, Ashley (Jodi) Campbell, daughter-in-law, Connie Campbell, grandchildren; Jeremy Campbell (William) of Saint John, NB, Laura (Phillip) Greer of Saint John, NB, Joey Claridge of Doaktown, NB, Hilary Campbell of Charters Settlement, NB, Morgan (Ryan) Spivey of Kentucky, USA, Cole Campbell of New Maryland, NB; several great-grandchildren and extended family members.
Besides his wife and parents, Doug was predeceased by his son, Donald Campbell; sisters, Greta Stewart, Ellen walls, Mary Donahue and brother Thomas Campbell.
A graveside service will be held at the Doaktown United Baptist Church Cemetery on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 3:00 pm with a private family reception following.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the Doctors and Nurses of the Duffie Unit at the Oromocto Public Hospital for the wonderful care and support Doug received during his months there. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Carrolls Crossing Baptist Church would be appreciated.
