It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy Butterworth (nee Ford) on September 6, 2023 at Trinity Village, Kitchener following an extended illness.
Dorothy was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, but no matter which hat she wore, she was always a teacher! Everyone loved Dorothy’s baking, especially those who meant the most to her and called her Grandmom or Grandma.
Dorothy loved her family, travel, sports, games, good food, a nice glass of red wine, and beautiful sunsets at the family cottage on Lake Huron. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Dave (lovingly known as «Pa» to their grandkids,) brothers Bus and Bill, and many close sisters and brothers-in-law.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the dedicated staff at Trinity Village and, previously at Winston Park, for the excellent care Mom/Grandma received during her final years.
In celebration of Dorothy’s life, a visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday October 13, 2023 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The funeral service will follow in the chapel of the funeral home beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment of her cremated remains will follow immediately afterwards at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 2723 Victoria St N, Breslau.
For those unable to attend in person, the service will be live streamed at www.erbgood.com, allowing friends and family to participate remotely.
In honour of Dorothy and in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her name to either CNIB or Diabetes Canada, causes that were dear to her heart and may be arranged through www.erbgood.com
