It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Dorothy Barnes- Rogers of Fortune, NL announces her passing.
Dorothy passed away at the Blue Crest Nursing Home in Grand Bank, NL on Friday, November 15, 2024 at the age of 81.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her daughter, Shelley Symes (Stanley) of Fortune; son, Perry Barnes (Kimberley) of Fortune; 3 grandchildren, Bradley Symes (Amanda), Tyler Barnes (Karren), Hillary Barnes (Michael) ; 4 great grandchildren, Bridget , Callie and Oaklynn Symes, Hannah Barnes; sisters, Georgie Rose (Earl), Emma Mae Strickland (Cecil), Shirley Bungay, Donna Cook (Roger); brothers, Jacob Thornhill (Lenora), Charles Thornhill (Frances), Cecil Thornhill (Alvina), William Thornhill (Mary), Lloyd Thornhill (Grace), Howard Thornhill; sisters-in-law, Geraldine Barnes, Eileen Barnes; brother-in-law, Howard Cousins; step-daughters, Bonnie Rogers-Greene (Colin), Lisa Kearley (Dave), Lana Tyrrell (Nick), Angie Rogers (Mark); step-grandchildren, Megan Rogers, Robyn Kearley, Taylor Barter, Steven Kearley, Brittany Hodge, Chelsea Hodge; step-great-grandchildren, Payton Paxton, Julien Paxton, Casey Tyrrell, plus a large circle of extended family and friends.
Dorothy was predeceased by husband, Allan Barnes; grandson, Matthew Symes; husband, Charles Rogers; sisters, Jessie Thornhill, Joyce Thornhill, Olive Dodge-Cousins; parents, Charles B. & Emma Thornhill; parents-in-law, Wilson & Rita Barnes; niece, Trina Thornhill-Muldoon; Brothers-in-law, Kevin Bungay, Frank Barnes, John Barnes & Cecil Barnes; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Thornhill, Winnie Barnes.
The Barnes Family will be accepting visitors at The All Saints Anglican Church Chapel in Fortune on:
