Dorothy Irene McLean
1927-2023
Dorothy Irene McLean, 96, of Lower Cape passed away
peacefully on September 21, 2023 at the Moncton Hospital with her
family by her side. Dorothy was born in Lower Cape on March 17th, 1927
the daughter of Robert W. and Avola (Fownes) Tingley.
She met and married her soulmate, Sheldon McLean and
started their family. She stayed at home to raise
her children and make a warm and welcoming home. She also
became very close to all the McLean family, they were all one
big happy family. Dorothy had a strong faith and loved her
Lord. She was a very faithful servant. In
her younger years she taught Sunday School and helped with Mission
Band. She loved teaching children about God. She
was an awesome cook and baker, always having treats for
anyone who came to visit, especially her grandchildren and
great-grandchidlren. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and
sewing. Her home was her happy place and she felt blessed to
have been able to stay there up until a couple days before she
passed. Her favorite time of year was Christmas not only
because of the birth of her Saviour but she also loved
decorating. Her Christmas Village took over her house and it
could be found in every room. She also loved cooking
Christmas dinner and having all her family come. These times
were so special to her. She has seen so many changes and
been through alot in the past 96 years but she was always smiling and
never let anything get her down. Her smile will be fondly
remembered by all who knew her.
We know she is now hearing these words;
«Well done, my good and faithful servant!
You have been faithful with a few things; I
will put you in charge
of many things. Enter into the joy of your
Master!»
She will be missed by her children, Roger (Dawne) of
Shepody, Betty of Shepody, Randy (Nilah) of Weldon, Robbie
of Lower Cape and Tracey of Moncton; her treasured grandchildren, Todd
(Denise), Trent, Troy (Tammy), Stephanie, David, Christopher, Sabrina,
Colton, Taylor and and step-grandson, Alex (Stephanie) ; her
great-grandchildren, Emma (Nick), Abigail (Ryan) , Ryan, Myles, Julia
and Donovan ; step great-grandsons, Austin, Dallas, Jackson and
Lincoln; precious great-great grandson, Raiden. She will
also be missed by Brittany (mother of Myles and Julia) and Julie
(mother of Emma and Abigail); by several nieces, nephews, all her
extended family; and by her community.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her beloved
husband, Sheldon; infant daughter, Faye Avola; siblings, Treva,
Everett, Hester and Harold «Bun».
