It is with great sadness we announce the
sudden passing of Dorothy Eileen Booth,
80 years of Mapleton, on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at her residence.
Born in Springhill, NS she was a
daughter of the late C. Curtis and M. Emily (Brown)
Gallagher.
Dorothy was a dedicated wife, mother,
grandmother and sibling. The cornerstone of the family, she
put everyone’s needs ahead of her own. She was a marvelous
cook, and loved to provide a comfortable home for her family and
visitors. She loved to be outdoors, tending her flowers, and
her very productive garden which she turned into preserves in the
fall.
Dorothy is survived by her husband,
Brenton; sons, Bill, Mapleton, Dana, Carbon, AB, and Danny,
Mapleton; grandchildren, Colton, Christian, Nicole, Allison,
and Beverly; greatgrandson William; siblings, Edna Smith,
Springhill, Jim (Sharon) Gallagher, Mapleton, David (Evelyn)
Gallagher, Mapleton, Marlene (Wayne) Millard, Mapleton, and Dwight
(Linda) Gallagher, Springhill; as well as several cousins, nieces,
nephews.
Besides her parents, Dorothy was
predeceased by a brother, Bill, and a sister, Rhonda; granddaughter,
Brooklyn.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5
McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361). A private
family visitation will be held, followed by a committal in the
Mapleton Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Dorothy may be
made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Mapleton
Cemetery.
