Doris passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 18, 2023 in the City of Milton. She shared her life for many years, with her loving husband Joe (Josef) who preceded her a few years ago.
Doris was born in Lithuania, and as child grew up with foster parents in Berlin, Germany. She was educated there and began her professional career after the war as a translator within the US Army.
It was there she met and married her husband Joe. Eventually they migrated to Canada in 1961. They built their lives here and had very successful careers, Joe as a longtime Ford Ltd. Employee in Oakville, and professional musician, and Doris as an Executive Assistant in Mississauga. Some years later, Joe and Doris decided that since they did not have children of their own, they would help to sponsor two of their family members into Canada. They brought Joe’s niece Emily Samut and his nephew Marjan Kolaric and helped them to start their lives and careers here. For this love and support, Emily and Marjan are eternally grateful.
Doris and Joe were blessed with many, many amazing friends which in the absence of their families were together like one big loving family. They travelled together and socialized together constantly.
Joe and Doris also had a great love of nature and in the 80’s moved to Milton. That is where in their later days, they enjoyed a peaceful life in the country, with the love of family and friends around them.
Doris and Joe will be missed by their many friends and family including Emily and Joe Samut, their children Lorraine, Philip and Kristina along with their respective spouses and children. Also by Marjan and Shivaun Kolaric and their children Natasha and Adriana.
After many years of marriage, Joe and Doris you are together once again. Let internal light shine upon you both…………..
